Hi I'm Ethan Gee

I'm an Alaskan. I'm an actor. I'm an outdoors man. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Anchorage Alaska. I am an Eagle Scout with four palms. I love history and mythology. I love the fine arts. I like to sing, act, and play the piano. I have acted in seven plays, three of which have been musicals. I also did the lights for one, and was the stage manager for one while having a small role on stage. I am currently on a mission. After my mission I will be attending Utah State University in Logan Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. But I gained my personal testimony a few years ago. I was attending a church camp for youth called EFY at BYU for the first time in 2013. I was in the testimony portion of the week and I felt prompted to share my testimony. I looked for something to share and in my EFY book I found a scripture I had wrote down from one of the classes, it was Moses 7:30 “And were it possible that man could number the particles of the earth, yea, millions of earths like this, it would not be a beginning to the number of thy creations and they curtains are stretched out still; and yet thou art there, and thy bosom is there; and also thou art just; thou art merciful and kind forever;” So I decided to get up and share that scripture. I started sharing my testimony on how God knows us individually and loves us. As I shared, I immediately began to shake with emotion. I had to do everything not to cry, and I couldn't keep my voice from shaking. Then I began to feel this amazing warmth and glow. I felt the Holy Ghost confirming what I was saying. I could feel my Heavenly Father listening, watching, approved, and was pleased with what I was saying.

How I live my faith

I try to live all the standard and commandments to the best of my abilities. I have been the president of the different young men organizations in my ward and I have been a ward missionary. My main responsibility as a ward missionary was to run the social media. I ran a Facebook page for ward or the congragation I attended in which I posted quotes from prophets, apostles, scriptures, talks, and upcoming ward and stake events that can be used as missionary opportunities. Right now I am on a mission. I got called to serve in the Louisiana Baton Rouge Mission. I attended the Mexico Missionary Training Center so I can prepare to teach the gospel in the Spanish language.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Ethan Gee
The biggest thing that I find tell that there is a God in the scriptures and today is nature, the world. In the scriptures is says multiple times that the world is a testimony of god Psalms 19:1 "1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork” Moses 1:4-5 "4 And , behold thou art my son; wherefore look, and I will show thee the workmanship of mine hands; but not all, for my workds are without end, and also my words, for they never cease. 5 Wherefore, no man can behold all my work, except he behold all my glory, and afterwards remain in the flesh on the earth." There are so many creations out there it is impossible that it all happened by chance. So many galaxies and cosmos and we have only discovered a tiny fraction of them. Alma 30:44 “All things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth... and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator” Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Ethan Gee
As the cover of this book says. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. This book is proof that Christ exist. The Bible is about the people in Israel and The Book of Mormon is about God's dealings with another group of people. This book starts around 600 B.C. (around the time of the prophet Jeremiah) in Jerusalem. A prophet named Lehi, under the direction of the lord. Took his family and a few friends away from Jerusalem. He was warned that Babylon was going to come and the Lord wanted to save him and his family because they were righteous to the commandments of God. Guided by the Lord, this group traveled to the Americas and established a civilization that later split into two civilizations called the Nephites and the Lamanites. This book is about these two civilizations and God's dealings with them. They had the books and law of Moses, they had prophets, and they received direction and revelation from God. There is even a part (3 Nephi 11) in which Jesus after his resurrection, visits them and teaches them the things he taught in Israel. This book takes nothing away from The Bible and the Bible takes nothing away from The Book of Mormon. They work hand in hand to testify and prove that Jesus is the Christ and the savior of the world. I invite you to read it and then to follow the promise in Moroni 10:3-5. I promise if you follow that scripture's instructions exactly you will come to know eventually that this book is true if you want to know if it is true. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Ethan Gee
"We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." ~Joseph Smith Jr. This quote above is what we believe in relating to "the godhead" or the "trinity". We believe that God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three separate beings. The Holy Ghost also known as the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, or the Spirit of God. Is a spiritual being whose purpose is to testify and preach of Christ and God. He only teaches truth and knowledge. You can feel him through your heart and soul. "22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23) The spirit can speak to you in many ways. To listen to the spirit and to discern what he says is a gift that you have to work on. Like other talents and skills it takes much practice and time. But if you work on it, you can know how he speaks to you. Show more Show less
