Hi I'm Chandler

I was born in Utah but grew up in the Middle East. I have traveled the world. I am serving a mission in Madagascar! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Chandler. I was born in the United States but grew up as an expatriate overseas. I am going to school to become a Landscape Architect and am ready and enthusiastic to begin my professional life. I am leaving to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am serving in the Madagascar, Antananarivo Mission for two years to serve the people speaking in the Malagasy Language.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because first and foremost, I was blessed to be born into it. My parents raised me to love and follow this church. But as I have grown I have chosen for myself to follow the teachings and commandments this church stands for. I have learned and come to deeply believe that families can be forever, I have a Heavenly Father who knows and loves me personally, and I can return to him one day if I live according to his commandments. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that it was translated by a prophet of God in modern time. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church on the earth today. A church that offers an abundance of happiness and joy that no other earthly entity or organization can offer. And for these reasons, among many others, I am proud to call myself a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Living overseas I have grown up learning that people are always watching. And that they know that I am Mormon. I learned from a young age to live my faith through my actions and the way I interacted and behaved in public and with others. By acting as Christlike as possible I am living my faith and spreading it at the same time.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

In my opinion, the Atonement of Jesus Christ is the greatest gift and blessing our Heavenly Father has ever given us. Our Heavenly Father sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die for us. He suffered for the sins of the world to allow all who have ever lived, who are living now, and who will ever live to return to the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father who loves us so much. The Atonement allows imperfect individuals like you and I to repent and become clean from our sins, no matter big or small. It allows us to be forgiven of any wrongs we have done and gives us the saving opportunity to go to heaven once again. Show more Show less
