Hi I'm Blaine Brokaw

I am a husband and a father. I love to listen to the stories of others. I feel joy when I am touched by the spirit. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am trying to be the best husband and father I can be. I like to play disc golf (and love it when the wind is blowing). I like science fiction and fantasy. My wife and I have a love of these genres of books. My oldest children, wife, friends, and I play a regular Dungeons and Dragons game every other weekend. We also love to play games as a family. I love playing the bass guitar. Ska music is my favorite. Listening to the Mormon music channel helps me feel the spirit every morning. I am a special education teacher. My family is my first priority. I love Japanese culture. One of my goals is to become proficient at nurturing banzai trees.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I feel the spirit of God touch my heart every Sunday when I partake of the sacrament to recommit to the covenants I made when I was baptized. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior. He lifts me when I am down, and comforts me when I am afraid. I learn of him through reading the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

In my local congregation, my wife and I teach the 16 to 18 year old youth Sunday school class. This is the best job in the world. We try to relate gospel principles to every day life, and the challenges that we all face. I know that I learn just as much from the youth as they do from me. Every day I try to make decisions that will make my Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ happy. I also try to be the husband my wife deserves and the father my children deserve.
