Hi I'm Paul Macbeth

I'm a scientist and happy to be a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, known as the Mormon Church.

About Me

I worked in the nuclear safety industry for more than 40 years with a background in nuclear physics, and have never found my religion to be an obstacle to professional success. As I have studied the sciences and engineering disciplines, I have not found any inconsistencies between the truths of the gospel and the facts and proven theorems of science. I love this marvelous world and universe that God created for us, His children, as a place to live and learn and be tested.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed with wonderful parents who taught me to think for myself, but who also taught and guided me in learning the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ. From my youth I have consistently prayed for divine guidance and support in my activities and beliefs, and have thereby come to know in my heart that God loves me, and all of His children, and that He has a plan for each one of us to grow and learn and show Him our love and devotion, so that we can eventually return back to His presence. I am grateful for the restoration to the earth of those glorious truths of the gospel that were lost by centuries of men struggling without divine guidance when God revealed His will to a humble boy named Joseph Smith who was seeking to know God's will for him, following the biblical pattern established from the beginning by God revealing his will for man to a prophet. I am especially grateful for the knowledge of the truth of the infinite atonement of God's son, Jesus Christ, through which our sins and mistakes can be forgiven, so we can return home to Him when we die.

How I live my faith

I have actively served in various Church callings and positions throughout my life, including participation in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Exploring, priesthood groups, and teaching Sunday School classes to both adults, youth and children. I have tried to be a good example to my fellowmen, and have spent considerable time in providing service to others, including serving for many years as a scoutmaster and in various positions in the local Scout Council and District.
