Hi I'm Maddie

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in the California, Carlsbad mission.

About Me

I am the oldest of five biological siblings and one half sister who I adore so much. I attended one semester at BYU before taking a leave of absence to prepare to serve a mission. I participated in track and field and cross country while in high school. I love basketball, music, and cooking. I love my family and enjoy being with good friends. I am excited to serve the Lord and share his gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born into an LDS family, I've been living the principles of the gospel since birth. Just because I was born into a mormon family does not mean that I was born with a testimony, and I think that is a hard thing for a lot of LDS kids. You can only lean on your parents testimony for so long until you have to find your own. I never had any doubts about the church, but when I was 14 I wanted to know for myself that our Savior and Heavenly Father knew who I was. I was at girls camp and we had time to study on our own. I knelt down alone on the hill, and sincerely prayed to my Heavenly Father to know if he was there and knew who I was. I received a special witness, a feeling of warmth and love that proved to me he knew who I was. It's hard to see small and large miracles in your life and doubt that there is a God who is out there who loves you and is watching over you.

How I live my faith

I am an active member and attend church every week. I am a teacher in the primary, for the children age four turning five. I enjoy helping these young children learn the stories in the Bible, The Book of Mormon, and the principles of the LDS religion. Now I have been called, and I'm preparing to serve a mission in just a few weeks.
