Hi I'm Kayla

I grew up in Utah. I love to play sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a wonderful home with a loving family. I played sports, danced, tumbled, and the played the piano throughout my childhood and teenage years. I have always enjoyed socializing with many different kinds of people, and enjoyed student government positions throughout high school. Soccer and basketball have been some of my biggest passions over the past few years of my life. I enjoy camping, boating, snow skiing, and vacationing in new areas.

Why I am a Mormon

I was always taught about the LDS church growing up in my home, and went to church every week with my family. As I grew older, we moved to a city not far from the one I grew up in. When I started going to my new ward, I realized that I had never actually thought about a lot of the things I was taught in my previous ward. I started to think very deeply about questions such as: "Am I a daughter of God? Do I have a testimony? Do I love Jesus Christ? Do I know that the Book of Mormon is true?" I had never asked myself these questions, until I was about the age of 13. As I started to search for these answers on my own, I learned a lot about who I was as a person. Many youth that are raised in the church come to a point in their life, where they start to gain a personal testimony. Mine started to grow immensely throughout junior high. I paid attention in seminary at school, in lessons on Sundays, and even when I was with my friends. There was a day in 9th grade, towards the end of the school year, where I realized that all of my questions weren't questions anymore. I knew in my heart that I was a daughter of my Heavenly Father who loves me and hears my prayers. I could feel how powerful Christ's Atonement was and that I wanted to gain attributes that He has. I came to know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that the Book of Mormon that he translated was true, and it did happen here on this earth. This testimony strengthens me throughout trials, makes me a better example, and it helps me make good decisions. I know that all of the blessings in my life come from faith in my Heavenly Father. I'm so grateful for temples that are so full of power and peace. I love being a member of this church because I know that I can be with my family forever, and live with God again. I continue to follow His gospel because it brings me a certain kind of happiness that can't be found anywhere else. It is my guide in this life. I say that in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I was always very active in my ward growing up. I helped organize activities during my elementary, junior high, and high school years. I served in the presidency during young women's. As I have been going to college, I have gone to the singles ward, along with my ward at home. I try to live my faith by trying to be a representative of Christ in all things that I do.
