Hi I'm David

I was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada. I've been called to serve in the California Rancho-Cucamonga Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is David, I was born and raised in Ottawa Canada. I am the second oldest of six kids. Since finishing High School, I've been working towards being the first of my siblings to serve a full time mission. I will be reporting to the Missionary Training Center on the 13th of April, 2016, only latter to be serving in the California Rancho-Cucamonga Mission. I love to play sports, although my passion lies with hockey (yeah I know, stereotypical Canadian here). I also have found a great love in music. I can play four instruments, the flute, guitar, sax, and piano. just don't ask me to prove it, i don't do well with solo pressure. I have been blessed to be born to a mother who loves to travel, and as such, she has passed down her love for foreign cultures. I have traveled to Mexico and Colombia, and more then one occasion, as well as the Dominican Republic. I have fallen in love with the people and am blessed now with the opportunity to serve my mission Spanish speaking, so that i might actually be able to communicate with the people upon my next visit.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm on the right track baby, I was born this way. The wonderful lyrics of the great Lady Gaga aside, I was blessed to be born to a mother and father who had made the choice themselves to become converted to this great gospel. Both my parents met with missionaries and later joined the church, where they then met each other. Lo and behold about a year and a half later, I entered the picture. The choice my parents made raised me in such a way that the teaching of the church came naturally and easily to me. But a choice of my own had to eventually be made; to gain my own testimony and continue in the church, or fall away. And so, I gained a testimony. I have learnt for myself, through the testifying and comforting power of the Holy Spirit, as well as my own personal revelation, that I have a loving Heavenly Father, who is always there for me, and that he sent His Son, to die and to take upon himself my sins, so that I can be pure and live with my Heavenly Father again. This knowledge, as well as the words of living Prophets who lead and guide me today, I am led forward, in faith, with a strong testimony of Heavenly Father and His plan, with a desire to be the best that I can. I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true church, that this is Heavenly Fathers church, restored on the earth, with His chosen representative leading the way forward. I am a Mormon because of the love and happiness that this knowledge has brought to myself and those I love.

How I live my faith

I have had the wonderful opportunity to serve in a myriad of callings (volunteer based positions in the church). From being in charge of and overseeing the 12 and 13 year old boys, as a 13 year old boy myself, to being the priesthood chorister, and leading the men of the church in song. Most recently I've had the privileged to teach a primary class of 10 and 11 year old boys and girls. I have loved the opportunity to be able to study and learn with, as well as teach with the children, who have helped me to gain a greater understanding. Seeing the willingness in each of them has pushed me forward toward wanting to accomplish many great things. I have also been able to help out with the local Broadway shows by helping with the construction of sets as well as the lighting during the shows. When it comes down to it though, I live my faith be trying each day to be the best that I can, to help others, so that they might find happiness. It is my personal belief that everyone is entitled to happiness, and if I can have any part in helping people to achieve that on a daily basis, then I have succeeded.
