Hi I'm Taylor

I am 19 years old. I grew up all around the United States. I am a convert, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a non-religious home, my parents are non-religious. However, they never pushed their views on my siblings and I. We grew up with open minds and respect for everyone and their individual beliefs. In high school, I was really outgoing and played sports, was in a lot of clubs, and I loved doing well in school. When I got to college in fall of 2014, I joined a sorority and made a lot of friends pretty quickly, and I did well in my classes during my first year of college. However, I felt like I could be doing something more with myself and there was something bigger out there for me. Then at the end of my freshman year in May 2015, that is when I met missionaries and they introduced me to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I have been a member of the church for 8 1/2 months now, and I have been forever made better and whole because of this church and the gospel that is teaches and shares. I am continuing my sophomore year at college, and I work at the Student Recreation Center on campus. I love hanging out with my friends from church and going on hikes, watching movies, and having dinner with them! It's been great to finally find my place in life, and I was able to do so because I found the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

Since finding the gospel, I can look back at everything that's happened to me before, during, and after my conversion and honestly say with a whole heart that everything happened in perfect timing in the perfect place, because it was all done by God, who is perfect. I've come to learn that in from deepest and darkest times comes the highest and brightest blessings. You learn so much from each hard thing that you go through, and it's because of my faith in Christ my Savior and Heavenly Father that I will become stronger and better because of my experiences. He knew when it would be the right time for me, to find the gospel. He knew what I would need to experience in order to be where I am at right now - happy, positive and full of hope. I'm exactly where I need to be, and I cannot wait to see where I am going, with my focus being completely on the Lord and living His everlasting gospel. Since being baptized I've finally found that “something bigger” I was looking for. I will be honest and say that I have had my fair share of unimaginably hard trials, but I have also had many more blessings since being baptized. I’ve learned to see these, both trials and blessings, as meaningful experiences that have allowed me to learn more about who I am as a daughter of God and what I am capable of as a disciple of Jesus Christ. I am more sure of myself than I ever have been, and I am more myself than I ever have been, and it is because of those meaningful experiences. I have only had questions about the church, I have never had doubts. I cannot doubt how my life has improved since becoming a member of God’s Kingdom. My life will now and forever be better because of my decision, and I know that my decision will not only affect me, but it will affect my family, and my future family, and all for the better. They will be able to have happy and eternal lives because of my decision to be baptized, and being able to experience that everlasting joy with them is an indescribable feeling.

How I live my faith

Two weeks after I got baptized, I received two callings in my ward. I now have three callings, and I participate in visiting teaching, which is teaching other members in the church about a certain topic for that month! It is an awesome way to get to know the members in your ward a little better and get to talk about wonderful gospel topics. I also organize different events in my church, which keeps me busy but is so rewarding! I help the missionaries out in my ward a lot too, always going on lessons with them and taking them out for food! They are some of the best friends I have ever had, and I really appreciate all that they do and the service they provide. They amaze me all of the time, and I am so lucky to not just call them missionaries, but also true friends. I stay really active in my church, which is something that I love because it makes me want to share the gospel with my friends who are non-members, and my whole family, who are also non-members. I live my faith through how I treat people and my personality. I try my best to emulate Jesus Christ's light and service though me and my presence. I am a pretty positive person, but I wasn't always like this. Once I found the gospel, my life has completely changed. I am the happiest I have ever been, and that is because I have the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Because I have these things, it is so rewarding and amazing to live my faith, because it is true. I see the blessings in my life because of my faithfulness to the gospel, to striving to become more like my Savior Jesus Christ and my desire to live with our Heavenly Father in heaven. I cannot deny this church, because I have witness for myself the truthfulness and power of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It is amazing and it should be shared with every single person who was, is, and will be on this earth. So I live my faith by helping people understand this gospel, because I know it can bring them joy.
