Hi I'm George

I grew up in Mesa. I'm serving a mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm Elder George Mann. I'm the youngest of six in my family, and have grown up In the gospel. I was a lifeguard, and I'm an Eagle Scout. I played baseball until high school. My main areas of of study are Batman( I might have a couple of Joker suits) Scooby Doo, Power Rangers, and The Standard works. I love the gospel, and am currently serving in The Washington DC North, Spanish speaking mission. After the mission I'm going into law enforcement, catching up on a lot of superhero things, and maybe getting a mystery machine.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, so I've grown up learning in primary, Sunday school, and the priesthood quorums. My testimony has been built line upon line, here a little, and there a little. My teachers and leaders in the church have been a great example. As well as the prophets in the scriptures. The examples of Joseph Smith, The faith of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nigo, The determination of Peter, the willingness of Paul, the final testimony of Abinadi, the valor of Captain Moroni, and others have been a great testimony builder. In the MTC, I had a lot more free time, so I ended up studying the scriptures a lot. And having a hour each day in the field for personal study. Reading these words and acts of these prophets, and having the spirit bear witness of the truth of the Book of Mormon and the Bible has really helped me.

How I live my faith

I always try to keep the gospel standards and set a good example. I accepted the call to serve a mission given to every worthy, able young man. Three weeks after I graduated from high school, I left for The Mexico City MTC on Tuesday, June 14th 2016, to try learn Spanish to preach the gospel in it, and have since been workin on Spanish. I got into the mission field in D.C. six weeks later on July 27th 2016, and have been serving since then. I try to follow the example the apostle Paul has laid out. I'm fighting a good fight. I'm finishing the course. I'm keeping the faith.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith Jr. was born in 1805 in Sharon, Windsor County, Vermont, to Joseph and Lucy Mack Smith. He had 10 brothers and sisters. His parents taught him to pray, read the Bible, and to have faith in God. At age 14, as an answer to fervent prayer, Joseph saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, in his First Vision. At age 17, Joseph began to receive heavenly messengers who prepared him for his role in the Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ to the earth. He was a prophet, just like Moses, Isaiah and others in biblical times. He was strengthened by God to fulfill His mission much as was Jeremiah who said, “Ah Lord God! Behold I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the Lord said unto me, Say not I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak” (Jeremiah 1:6-7). Show more Show less
