Hi I'm Brooke

I am from Indiana. I love to play basketball and I enjoy running. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Indiana in the middle of a cornfield. There wasn't a whole lot to do where I lived, so I was very involved in my schools athletic program. I played basketball and ran cross country and track until my junior year. My senior year, I decided I was ready to try something new, so I graduated a semester early and came out to BYU. The choices I have made have led me to have the experiences I have had and to become who I am today. I am currently at BYU studying Family and Consumer Science Education. This summer, I will be leaving on a mission to the Brazil Rio de Janeiro mission. I am beyond excited to serve my Heavenly Father and my fellow brothers and sisters on the earth today.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ means everything to me, and the church has the gospel in its fullness. I was born into a family who was already members of the church, but along the way I have had to discover for myself the truthfulness of the principles that are taught. As I have lived the gospel and kept Heavenly Father's commandments, I have seen so many amazing blessings in my life and it has brought me so much happiness. Living the gospel brings a sense of peace and assurance that because of Heavenly Father's plan for us and because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ in our behalf, there can always be hope. No matter what you go through. The gospel brings me hope, even when there are dark times all around. I know that this is the true church upon the Earth today, and that the gospel has been restored through Joseph Smith. Families can be together forever because of the sealing power that is only found in the temples of the Lord. I know that the gospel can and always will bring more happiness than anything this world has to offer.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in my Young Single Adult ward as a Family Home Evening mother. I love my calling. I miss my family so much, so having a time where I can bond with my "family" that is out here is a great time for me. Attending Brigham Young University gives me so many opportunities to interact with others who share the same beliefs and values that I do. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in the Brazil Rio de Janeiro mission. I will preach the gospel to the people of Brazil for 18 months. I know that by doing so, I will be able to share the happiness that living the gospel brings with those I help to teach.
