Hi I'm Reed

I love serving others. My family is of greatest importance to me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was heavily involved in high school: serving as student body president, participating in athletics, and studying hard in my academic pursuits. I enjoy swimming, and I have competed at the state level in this sport. I also enjoy playing other sports and generally enjoy an active lifestyle. I love jet-skiing. I also enjoy reading and spending time with family and friends. We like to play board games as a family as our busy lifestyles permit. We also regularly work and serve together. I have received my Eagle Scout and three subsequent Eagle Palms. I also enjoy dancing and creating art. I love playing the piano among other instruments, and I am glad when I am able to use my talents to bless the lives of others. I have studied German, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese. I look forward to serving a mission in Taiwan in the near future.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it brings me closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. It is His church on the earth today and it contains the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know Christ lives and directs His church through a living prophet. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, comparable to the Bible in its teachings. I know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ all may be saved according to their faith and diligence in keeping the commandments of God. I know that God loves all of His children unconditionally. I know that He loves me. I know that He loves you--more than you can possibly comprehend.

How I live my faith

I have participated in my community through various service organizations associated with our local high school. We have sponsored events such as blood drives, fundraisers, and awards ceremonies for the community. As student body president, I made an effort to reach out to all of the students by learning about them and their interests. As an Eagle Scout I mentor the younger boys. I served as the troop guide for several years and now as an assistant scoutmaster. I serve in my family by doing my part to keep our home in order and by assisting my parents in all of their efforts--including the care of my siblings. We took in a foreign exchange student from Spain and did our best to see that she had the best possible experience during her time in the United States. I serve at church by organizing events and activities and by reaching out to all. I constantly search for new ways by which I can express my love of God by serving His children. I will soon serve as a missionary for twenty-four months in Taiwan; I hope to bring joy into the lives of those I meet during my time there. I always try to speak kindly of all, regardless of their actions and position in life. I offer my friendship to those in need, and I recognize all that has been done for me and wish to give back however possible.
