Hi I'm Dale Dewey

I am recently retired and am looking to spend my retirement years serving with my wife as missionaries for the LDS Church.

About Me

I grew up in a family that was not active in any religion. After high school I enlisted in the Army and served a tour in Vietnam. It was there that I made a commitment to God that upon my return I would seek to discover who God is. During this searching period I attended various meetings of many religions, but primarily Christian. I used the King James version of the Bible as a blueprint to find a church that matched all the criteria that I mapped out in the Bible. My search brought me to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over many years now, I have found much joy in doing my best to live the principles and doctrine of the Church. I have found much peace and joy - even in the midst of some very difficult times. As I strive to model my behaviors after the life of Jesus Christ, I have grown in my love and appreciation for His example and His atoning sacrifice for me. Because of Him, I have the hope of life eternal, not only for me, but for my family - together forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I wish I could tell you of some tremendous faith promoting experience, or profound words of wisdom, but the truth is, that I have neither to offer. I have never seen nor heard the voice of angels, or of God. I have never experienced a grand vision or course altering spiritual experience, but I have had thousands of little miracles in my life, and I have felt His promptings, and have received personal revelation on things that I should say and do. Most people of this world would categorize all of my experiences as coincidences, but I declare to you that the Lord God Almighty is ever aware of you and me. He is the Father of our spirits. It is He, a loving and kind Father, who placed all of my little miracles in my path that I might be constantly reminded of His tender mercies; of His arms ever extended in my behalf. I cannot deny His presence in my life. I cannot deny that whatsoever thing is good in my life, it is due to His patient and watchful care. I declare unto you that Jesus is the Christ and I love Him dearly. I declare unto you that His Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His restored Church on the earth today. I have not been a perfect father and I have made my share of mistakes, but I can be made whole, and so can you through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Come home! The Church will continue as Daniel declared to King Nebuchadnezzar, and so I declare unto you, this work will not fail, for it is God’s work and it will as a “…stone cut out of a mountain without hands…” consume the whole earth. Come home – home to that God that gave you life.

How I live my faith

Over the course of my life I have served in many capacities of the Church. The Church has provided me the opportunity to serve many different people; both in the Church and outside of the Church. Joy seems to come when I find myself in the service of others. Whenever I find myself feeling a little depressed, I look around and see others who are in more difficult circumstances than I, and if I will just forget myself and render a little time and effort to help others I find myself feeling most grateful for my circumstances. I find myself drawing a little closer to my Savior and Redeemer - Jesus Christ.
