Hi I'm Michelle

I am creative, enthusiastic, caring, strong willed, loving, loved and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm the youngest of three born and raised in Utah. I played rugby in high school with an amazing team and coach, I also competed on my schools debate team where I made the most amazing friends and learned so much. I love anything to do with a camera, from photography to film and all the in between. I currently live with more pets then people. Four dogs, three cats, a bird, and lots of fish out number the 5 adults. I worked as a dog groomer and loved it.

Why I am a Mormon

I have faced many struggles in my life. Bullying, financial issues, temptations, family matters that include my parents splitting up. I had a really hard time with life and with the gospel through my childhood and up through junior high. I came across some not so great examples who turned myself and my siblings away from the church. I didn't really have a testimony or faith and for a while it felt like I was just going through the motions. Then there were times when I'd see the Lord's hand and think 'maybe this is true' and put a little more effort into my actions and work harder. It wasn't until I got into high school that I truly found my faith. My first seminary teacher had a huge impact on me, and for the first time I felt the sprint strongly and my testimony began to more fully form. I still faced a lot. And struggled a lot. But throughout high school I came to know my savior. I began to recognize more fully the blessings I had been given. I looked back and realized Heavenly Father has always been there, through my darkest times when I did think he was there or that he cared, he was. He has blessed my life in so many ways. I don't know where I would be without him. I know Heavenly Father knows each and every one of us. He knows exactly what we need when we need it, and he never turns away out gives up on us. He has a plan for us. For you. For me. For everyone. And he loves you. He loves us all. I have felt the love of my Savior and my Father in Heaven wrap around me as I have repented of sin, I feel it everyday as I strive to be better and do better. I have seen so many things in my life that wouldn't be possible without the gospel. Without Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Without the Atonement. I have felt it. I have seen it. I have lived it. It brings be the greatest joy, peace, and love, to know with every fiber of my soul that this is the true church.

How I live my faith

"The most effective way to share the gospel is to live it" I wake up in the morning and try to live my day in the gospel. I work to be an example to those around me, especially those of my friends who don't have the gospel in their lives. I try to show kindness in all that I do and strive to be like Christ. I am currently preparing to leave on my mission and could never be more excited to leave everything I have to share what I know.

What is being a Mormon like?

Michelle
Being Mormon is like flipping a switch you never knew was there and filling a dark room with the most amazing light you have ever seen. So much of life makes sense when you have the gospel in your life. We don't know everything, and we don't know exactly what will happen, but when we put our trust in our Heavenly Father and "lean not unto our own understanding" he guides us and blesses us with eternal joy. The type of joy you can't help but to want to share with everyone through words and actions. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Michelle
We do not worship Joseph Smith, rather we recognize the role he played in restoring the church so we can in turn worship God our Eternal Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Michelle
Christ established his church while he lived on the earth, after he was crucified and the apostles were killed the earth fell into darkness. Essential parts of Christs gospel were lost, the bible was altered this way and that way to fit certain denominations. When Joseph Smith prayed and was shown the first vision, it marked the beginning of the restoration and the fullness of the gospel was once again upon the earth. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Michelle
Absolutely. Prophets of old help guide Heavenly Fathers children and testify of truth, he sent them because he loves his children and wants to see them return to him. That same reason is why we have prophets today, Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to return. His prophet today gives much needed revlation and guidence that help us find peace and happiness. When we listen to the council from our prophet and priesthood leaders our lives can be changed for the better. Show more Show less
