Hi I'm Jason Child

I was born in Utah and now live in Idaho. I have a passion for teaching the Gospel, coaching soccer and carpentry. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jason. I was born into a Mormon family. I have 4 siblings. I think it's unique in this day and age that my parents, each of my siblings and I have all married and remained married to the same person. My wife and I have 5 children. Our oldest is engaged to be married. I enjoy teaching the Gospel as a full-time seminary and institute teacher for the Church. I also enjoy coaching and reffing soccer. Had I not become a seminary teacher I likely would have become a contractor building custom homes. I enjoy framing and finishing carpentry.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon first because I was born into a Mormon family. I'm a Mormon second because I have prayed about this religion and God heard my prayer and answered it. I know it's true. I may not know the answer to every question but I know it is true. I have felt the Holy Ghost in my heart frequently confirming to me the things I believe are true. If nothing else was true except the doctrine of remaining an eternal family with my spouse, that would be enough to keep me active and faithful to the tenets and beliefs of the Church.

How I live my faith

Since marrying almost 22 years ago I have been involved in church callings associated with the Young Men (12-18 yrs old) 20 of those nearly 22 years. My current calling is Stake Young Men's President. In this calling I, with 2 counselors and a secretary, assist the Young Men's Presidencies in each congregation in our Stake (a group of 12 congregations) as they assist the young men in their congregations to remain faithful to the Lord and Church and to deepen their conversion of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I very much enjoy what I do in this calling!
