Hi I'm Anna

I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Oregon. I enjoy the outdoors! I love the Gospel.

About Me

I am a Netflix watching, mountain climbing, ice cream eating, kind of girl! I love watching romantic movies and comedy shows. My favorite place would be the couch with a big blanket. But I could camp all year round. I would rather hike in rain than sun. I am lucky enough to live in a state that many hiking areas near by! My favorite is the Columbia Gorge. I am the 7th of 8 kids. I am attending Brigham Young University in Rexburg, Idaho. But am on a break to serve a mission! California Redlands Mission. I am not sure what I want to go to school for, but I am leaning towards nursing in pediatrics and working with special needs children.

Why I am a Mormon

My family was inactive for most of my childhood. I don't remember going to church, reading my scriptures or any such activities. But I always knew that I was Mormon and I couldn't stay away. When I became a teenager, I started going back to church regularly and learning more about what made me want to stay. My faith grew. I started to feel happier with life and myself. It was difficult to go through high school as a Mormon. Mainly because others didn't understand who we truly were. But it made me stronger. I learned to share the gospel with others. I love sharing my happiness with others around me. I am happy because I am a Mormon. I am truly blessed with the gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

Since I was a teenager, I knew I wanted to strengthened myself in the church. I read my scriptures, not as regularly as I should. When I need guidance or am in a rough patch in life, I can always go towards prayer and reading my scriptures for comfort. I attend church every Sunday, my favorite day of the week. I was leader in the youth program for 7 years. And enjoyed working with the younger girls with varies church, school, sporting activities. I attend Brigham Young University in Idaho, the church school. I participate in church activities with friends. Currently, I am a missionary, serving in Redlands, California. I strive to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with all those who will listen. Gospel of Jesus Christ has strengthened my life and I want to share that with others.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

Anna
Anyone is welcome to visit any of the temples that are open around the world! Many of them have visiting centers near for visitors to learn about the temple and the church. But only baptized members who are worthy are able to enter the temple. Nothing "secret" goes on, just scared-meaning that outside members aren't able to know specific details because it is between them and the Lord. Wedding ceremonies are performed inside the temple. Also, baptisms for the dead, which is a gospel principle that Mormons practice. Show more Show less
