Hi I'm Chase Goodey

I grew up in small country town roping, riding horses, and hunting. I love to rodeo and I am a Mormon!!

About Me

I love to rodeo and hunt! At any time of my life you could find me with either a rope or a gun in my hand and possibly both at the same time. I compete in two events in the rodeo arena, team roping and tie-down roping. I love both events and love working together with my horses that I ride. I guess you could say that I am your typical rodeo cowboy. I hunt anything that is in season and if it is not in season I am scouting it out for when the season opens. I also love to compete in shooting competitions, including my favorite competitions being apart of the high school rodeo shooting events. I have served as a officer for the local FFA chapter and loved it! I served as an officer for two years and planned on running for state office when the spirit called me to go on a mission instead. I have spent my whole life living in a small town on the Utah, Idaho border and love the life that comes with the small town. I grew up in a great family with two younger brothers.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of my testimony of the Restored gospel. I know for myself because the Holy Spirit has testified to me that some certain doctrines are true that align themselves with the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Some of the doctrines that the spirit has told me are true include that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, that God loves me, that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God, that the Book of Mormon is scripture from God, and that the Plan of Salvation as taught by Mormons is God's plan for saving each of his children. I would not be a Mormon or believe any of these things if the Holy Ghost had not testified to me personally that these things are true. I am so grateful that we have a way in our lives to be able to know truths for ourselves through the Spirit!!

How I live my faith

I have currently laid both the ropes and the guns down and picked up the Book of Mormon instead. As a small town, country boy I have headed off to bigger cities in the Washington, Everett Mission to share the gospel. I love being able to spend all my time and give all of my attention for two years to serving God and helping others come unto His son Jesus Christ. I have the great opportunity as a missionary to focus solely on the gospel of Jesus Christ for this time. I do not believe that we can have a real faith in Jesus Christ and not strive to be like him. As faith increases our desire to be like Jesus Christ will naturally increase as a consequence. That is why I decided to serve a mission. I have worked at increasing my faith and therefore I have gained a desire to serve and teach others just as our Savior did.
