Hi I'm Justin

I love sports, books, video games, and pretty much everyone and everything under the sun. I'm from Sandy Utah. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love watching and playing sports, especially football and basketball. GO JAZZ!! Reading is a great way to spend my time. I love reading poetry but all kinds of books as well. Live music is where the passion is at! Going to concerts are always a blast and I listen to many different genres of music. I like to play video games when I can find the time to explore dungeons, wastelands, and slay angry alien invaders in games like Destiny, Skyrim, and Fallout. I love to make wheel thrown pottery, its the bomb diggity!! I like to camp, hike, bowl, and do pretty much anything with my wonderful family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that loved the church and did everything they could to teach me the importance of the gospel. I have always marched to the beat of my own drum and never wanted to be told what to do or what to believe. As soon as I had the chance to leave the church and see what the world had to offer me I took it. I spent many years living a life that was opposite of what the gospel and my parents had taught me. I had lots of "fun", there were many good times, and I made many lifelong friends but there was something missing in my life. Throughout this time of personal discovery I found that there was no true and lasting happiness to be found in this lifestyle. I felt hopeless and lost. I made a choice to start applying the principles I had been taught as a child. It started with saying prayers to my Heavenly Father, something I had completely removed from my life. I then started to read the Book of Mormon before I went to bed and soon found myself at church on Sundays. I noticed a dramatic change in my life, began to feel happy and hopeful again. The more I have applied the gospel to my life the happier I have become. The many challenges I face in life have not gone away but I now have the strength, courage, and confidence that I can overcome them. No matter the odds. I love the Church and all that it stands for. There is no other religion I have found that has welcomed back, with such absolute love and forgiveness, someone that has wandered so far away. I thank God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost for the changes the gospel has made in my life. That is just the surface of why I am and will be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I wake up everyday with an attitude of gratitude. I look forward to meeting the challenges I have in life with positivity and try my best to choose the right in whatever situation I may find myself in. I love to serve and help others. Before my mission I spent most of my time working. I started volunteering my time at Primary Children's Hospital Sibling Playroom. I made crafts with the kids, played trains and cars with the boys, and let the girls practice their nail painting skills on me. I only spent a few hours a week there but the time I did spend there was the highlight of the week. I enjoyed having the chance to make at least one of the children smile when I was there.
