Hi I'm Michael Sutton

I am from San Diego. I come from a family of all boys. I love sports. The beach is my comfort. I am Mormon.

About Me

I am a lover of sports. Coming from a family of all boys, we strengthened our relationship through sports. I love my family more than anything, they are my best friends. I am an adrenalin seeker that is constantly looking for an adventure. That may include hiking, trying a new trick, or surfing a big wave, all of it encompasses me. I am very passionate about what I like to do. If i do not have passion for something, it can be hard to motivate myself to accomplish certain things. However, as I create passion I become very dedicated. I played baseball all throughout high school and had the best time doing it. My family is what matters most to me in this life. I would do anything for them, and I know that they would do anything for them. I love playing card games with them and watching movies. We have so many traditions that make up my family. I find it important to find the silver lining of everything and to keep a positive outlook on life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have many reasons for being a Mormon, but the biggest reason that I am a Mormon is because of my knowledge and belief in the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Through personal experience, I have felt the power of the Atonement and it's ability to change and transform people. The Atonement of Jesus Christ has broken the bands of death and is what allows us to see our families again after this mortal life. This knowledge has given me hope, happiness, and joy in this life and is irreplaceable. Through the covenants that I have my with God, I know and believe that I can live with him again in and eternal family, and enjoy his many blessings. There is not a single sin, sorrow, pain, or experience that the Atonement cannot heal, and I know that for a fact. I remain an active Mormon because the Gift of the Holy Spirit which I received when I was baptized. This has allowed me to overcome temptation, as well as aid in my feelings to serve others and have joy. The Spirit's testifying witness to me, reminds me each and every day that God loves us, Jesus loves us, and he wants us to return to his presence. Through the Holy Spirit, I have come to know that the Book of Mormon of true, that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God, and that Joseph Smith is a prophet of the Lord. The Book of Mormon helps me to stay obedient and faithful to my parents, church callings, and covenants. The Book of Mormon gives us individual revelation as long as we are reading it, and is here to bless each and every one of our personal lives. The Book of Mormon is the single most important tool on this earth, and by reading and praying about it helps us to stay on the path to eternal life. Without the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ on this earth, I would not have the life and wonderful family that I have. The love that I receive every day from this Gospel continues to help me push through this life and make righteous decisions. It is true and I will always believe that.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways. One of the most important ways that I live my faith is by being obedient to the commandments of the Lord and standing as a light and example to my peers. I read my scriptures each and every day, as well as kneel down in prayer at least twice a day. I currently serve as an ordinance worker in the temple and aid in the temple each and every week for five hours. I also serve as a home teacher, where I make monthly visits to some of the members of my church and teach them about the Gospel of Jesus Christ as well as offer any other help. I live my faith by staying worthy to hold the Priesthood of Jesus Christ and use that Priesthood as often as I can. I show my belief in my faith by living my faith, as I encourage all others to do so as well.
