Hi I'm Olivia

I'm a collegiate springboard diver. I love my family and my YSA branch. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in East Grand Rapids, MI. I have one older brother, three dogs, and three geckos. My family and I are very tight-knit. My mom is my best friend. We shop, play games, and watch Dance Moms together. My dad and shoot skeet, talk about life, and watch movies together. My brother and I play cribbage, belt out songs in the car, and share our deepest, darkest secrets with one another. My family is everything. I started diving when I was about eight years old, and now I'm on the team at the University of Illinois. In my spare time I hangout with my YSA Branch, play cribbage on my phone, and watch Netflix. I decorate my walls with all sorts of various quotes from "Flowers are pretty" to "i dive." There are more inspirational quotes as well. I can't skateboard or play the bassoon, and I'm less than stellar at bowling, but I'm always up for new adventures and experiences. I enjoy wake boarding, water and snow skiing, kneeboarding, and tubing. Chippewa Lake is my personal sanctuary. Mother nature is beautiful.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I became an official member of this church September 26, 2015. Joining this church has given me everything I was searching for consciously and subconsciously. In the physical world, I had been searching for a group of friends, a safe place away from my apartment, someone to teach me how to sing, people to cook with, and how to sew. Spiritually this gospel has given me the faith and testimony that I had subconsciously been searching for my whole life. I'm grateful I have a church that I can go to every Sunday and feel the amazing power of a spiritual uplift. This church has taught me that I can find comfort and companionship from all my trials through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know as hard as things may seem at times we are not alone, and we never have been.

How I live my faith

I live this faith by going to Church on Sunday, by praying consistently, studying the scriptures and the videos the Church has provided, hanging out with my YSA friends throughout the week, and resisting the constant temptations of the world because I know those temptations will draw me away from the relationship with Christ I’ve worked so hard to build over the past five and a half months.
