Hi I'm Rachael McDonald

I'm a college basketball player, dedicated student, and future sister missionary and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children, which makes me the guinea pig and example of my family. Sometimes it is hard, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I absolutely adore my family! I have several passions in my life, and one of those is sports. I love sports of any kind. I love being active and the competitive nature that comes with sports. I also love music and believe it is one of the best ways to feel the Spirit. But most of all, my biggest passion is the gospel. I love it and can't wait to dedicate a year and a half of my life to sharing it with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and has a special plan laid out for my life. I know that He has a Son who died for me to give me a second chance when I've messed up and eventually help me make it back to my Father in Heaven. I continue to follow the commandments and dedicate my life to this religion because of the hope and love that I feel. I find so much comfort in knowing that I have a Father who loves me unconditionally no matter what I do. It gives me a hope that I cannot find anywhere else in the world. Because of this, I try to be like Him in any way that I can. I am nowhere near perfect, but I know that through Christ, we can become perfected.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by example. I try to show people what I believe before telling them. I have a firm testimony in the power of friendship. I have noticed that by being a friend first, whether or not they are of our religion, has opened up so many more doors to discuss religion. I am a firm believer in loving people first. I have served in callings in my church as the president of our youth councils and have been in councils for our some of our church classes. I am also preparing to dedicate a year and a half of my life to teach others about this religion that I love so much.
