Hi I'm Amy R. Colón

I was born in Puerto Rico, but raised in Pennsylvania. I'm the youngest of 3 siblings and I love listening to music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I may seem shy at first, but once I get to know you, get ready to have the best time of your life! I'm the youngest of three siblings and the only girl. I am currently a missionary in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission. I've been called to labor in this mission for 18 months. My whole family is from Puerto Rico, but my mom, my two older siblings and I moved to Pennsylvania when I was only eight years old; we've been living here since then. During my free time I enjoy writing, listening to music and exercising. I also like to volunteer in my community whenever I'm given the opportunity. I am that person who sees the best in things and people - life is already too complicated to be pointing out its flaws. I'm the girl who's always dreaming and telling stories.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I chose to be a Mormon. The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me peace and reminds me to always live life with purpose. I chose to follow His Gospel because no matter what I'm going through, I'm always reminded that there will always be more blessings than hard times. The Book of Mormon allows me to get to know my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ and the Bible allows me to understand where I come from. This Gospel has taught me that one of the greatest reasons for being here on earth is to "have joy". I am a Mormon because we are family oriented.

How I live my faith

In the past, I've helped organize activities for youth in the church. I always like to teach others that there is purpose in life and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ offers special beliefs that makes us truly happy. At my young age, I've had various church callings, but the one I've enjoyed the most is teaching and strengthening the sisters because when I help them, I'm actually helping myself as well. I have also participated in many Young Women activity such as their annual camps, Personal Progress and many other church activities.
