Hi I'm Jaerden

I'm from WA. I love Cheeze-it's. Education Rocks. PE/ Teaching Major. Laugh and smile, Always!

About Me

I am twenty-one years old currently serving as the Relief Society President in my Young Single Adult Branch where I hold many responsibilities in addition to my college studies. I'm excited to say that I will be graduating this May of 2016, then venturing off to the lands of Dallas, Texas for a year and a half mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. Throughout the week, I look forward to finding the next best adventure in my area on the weekend. Hiking is my favorite thing to do! I love outdoor activities, writing, and reading has grown on me a lot recently as well. Spending time with those I love, educating and serving others is always uplifting to me. I have worked since the age of fourteen in various fields including grounds keeping, life guarding, food services, student services, Physical therapy assistance, and student athletic training. I do believe in good health, and always learning! My life may sound awesome from reading this, but I'm grateful for what I have now because of the trials I have experienced throughout my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon. Why I am a Mormon? Some ask me, "how are you still a member?" My parents are divorced, my mom and dad have both left the church, as well as two of my siblings. I was 14 years old. How on earth am I so active?... the truth is, I prayed about it. I went to my room and cried when I found out my parents were getting in a divorce. Then I simply prayed, because all that I learned and knew in my heart that I thought was true, was crumbling to pieces. "What about Eternal families?" was my first thought. As I cried, i prayed. Immediately my answer came, as long as I hold true to my faith and stay strong in the gospel I can have my own eternal family some day. Yes, it's painful having a divorced family, but staying strong in the gospel has taught me patience, love for everyone, love for my family, forgiveness to those who have hurt me. The gospel has taught me so much. It has taught me that I can become better, I can be forgiven of my mistakes; which I have, and continue to do everyday. It has taught me that my sins can be washed away every week through partaking the sacrament. I know that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that we can have peace on Earth, and that through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, we can repent, be baptized, receive and be guided by the Holy Ghost everyday, and that if we do so we will be able to endure to the end so that we can return to our Father in Heaven. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. I, indeed, am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

As a member of a Young Single Adult Branch (non-married adults ages 18-30), I serve as the Relief Society President in which I serve the woman of the the branch. I have truly enjoyed this calling as i teach, and delegate others to teach. I plan activities for the woman, as well as sit on an activities committee to help come up with activities for the men and woman ages 18- 30. These activities help all of the members of the branch spend time with those around their age in an uplifting environment, encourage social activities, and coming closer to Christ as we read the scriptures. Not only do we have activities, but we also have a program where we are assigned to serve other individuals to see how they are doing once a month. I am currently partnered with one other woman . We meet with two other ladies once a month in their home or out a lunch to share a lesson with them and see if we can help them with anything in their life. We call this Visiting Teaching. It provides support and love creating friendships and someone to go to for help if needed. Lastly, I attend two institute courses per week. These courses are on The Book of Mormon and Temple Marriage. These courses go more in depth of the doctrines and principle of the gospel as well as increase happiness in ones person life. You don't have to be married to learn what it take to have a happy marriage and and eternal family! Going to these classes is great for me as I know that I can always learn something knew that will help me in my life as I communicate with my Heavenly Father and those I come in contact with.
