Hi I'm Sheryl

I live in Idaho. I am a volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mom, a step-mom, a grandma, and a friend. I grew up during the 70s & 80s in a large metropolitan area in a family with both my parents, two brothers and a sister. Now live in a small town, with my sweetheart husband. I am a cancer patient/survivor, having a rare form of breast cancer. My lower back broke 7 years ago, as a result of the cancer, and I work through the pain and struggles from that on a daily basis. I am a BSA scout leader. I'm on a bowling league. I have worked in fast food restaurants, as a motel maid, convenience store, a potato packing plant. I worked in Records Management and Document Control for 17 years at a Department of Energy Facility and I've worked as an office administrator in an investment company. I recently took a job working from home tying Tarpon leaders. I am currently a stay-at-home grandma.

Why I am a Mormon

From a small child, I have been blessed with the inner knowledge that God is real, that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that the Holy Ghost will prompt me to make good choices. This is something I have always known, I've never doubted it. While my parents and brother were baptized members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 6 years old, I very definite ideas and beliefs of my own. I loved to sing in church with the other children and proclaim my love for Jesus Christ. As an awkward pre-teen, I loved to tell others that I knew Jesus loved me. As a teenager, I grew to grow and learn more. I attended an early morning class each workday for the four years I was in high school, where we studied the Old Testament, the New Testament, The Book of Mormon, and other scriptures. It was during these studies, both in class and on my own, that I came to know for myself that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church and that I would come closer to God as I studied the Book of Mormon and it's teachings. I have had blessings in my life, even miracles, that have proven to me that God is real, that He loves me. That I am his spirit daughter. That the Book of Mormon is true. That prophets are real. Prophets of old and Prophets today. I am a Mormon and I'm ever so grateful to be.

How I live my faith

I love the Boy Scouts of America Scouting Program. I volunteer most of my free time to helping scouts, other scout leaders and their families. I serve as a leader to New Scouts (11 year old boys) and love their energy. I also facilitate instruction with scout leaders of various ages and positions through small classes and potions on staff at camps. I am a merit badge counselor and assist scouts in earning merit badges. I also help at a BSA booth at the state fair every year. I enjoying bowling on a league with 17 other women. I also have a few ladies that I go an visit on a regular basis. We are great friends and enjoy visiting and sharing our common values, interests and beliefs and learning more about one another.
