Hi I'm Ben

I love to sing, laugh, and spend time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to work hard and give 100 percent to everything that I do. In high school, I sang in choir and played competitive Ultimate Frisbee. I really enjoy listening to and making music, which led me to start a band with some friends during high school. I love going to the park or taking road trips with my parents and siblings, and I can have fun with them no matter what we are doing. I'm a very energetic person, and my absolute favorite thing to do is to laugh. I'd consider myself a pretty funny guy and I really enjoy making jokes, witty comments, awful puns, weird faces, and anything else that helps people laugh. I enjoy life, and sharing it with my family and friends is what makes it so great!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know how much God loves each one of us. I have a Heavenly Father. He loves me, and He loves you more than we can even comprehend. There is nothing we can ever do that will change that love He has for us. Everything around us is a manifestation of that love. He sent us to Earth because He wants us to grow and become better. He gives us loving parents and siblings to help us learn and overcome trials. We have agency, the right to make our own choices in every aspect of life. There are so many things our Heavenly Father has given us because He loves us, but the two I am most grateful for are the Atonement of His son Jesus Christ and the restoration of His gospel here on the earth. I have always been a member of the Church, but I wasn't always living the way I was taught. When I was 16, I knew the things I was doing were wrong and that they were keeping me from having true happiness in my life. I decided that I wanted to stop doing these things and live the commandments of God instead. This was not an easy choice to make. It took me a few years to overcome my struggles and become worthy to serve a mission, and it was the hardest thing I've ever done. I failed so many times was always ready to give up, but through it all, my Savior Jesus Christ never once gave up on me. He completely transformed my life and took me from the deepest depths of sorrow to the greatest joys imaginable. Through Christ and His Atonement, I am an entirely new person. He has given me so many second chances, and I am totally indebted to Him for His love and grace. I know that Joseph Smith was truly a prophet of God, and that through him, Heavenly Father restored His Church on the Earth, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am so grateful for this Church and for everything I have learned through it. The Spirit has borne witness to me that God loves me and that this is His Church, and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I'm the secretary for the group of young men my age, which means I help plan activities and lessons that help us all become better. I'm usually responsible for reminding people about upcoming events or asking them to teach something to the class. This month, I am leaving for a full-time mission in the Bolivia Santa Cruz mission. Everyday I will wake up, study the Book of Mormon and the Bible, plan out how I can help other people come unto Christ, and then go out and teach people about Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. I will spend the next two years living in a country that is completely foreign to me and speaking a language that I barely know because I know how much the Gospel of Jesus Christ can change the lives of EVERYONE.
