Hi I'm Emily

I was born into a Mormon family. I love being a Mormon. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love drawing, writing, snowboarding, working with animals, singing, traveling, and attempting to make videos. Oh, and the church is pretty cool too ;) I'm currently attending high school, and when I graduate I am definitely going to be going to college as well as possibly serving a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church. I love the peace that going to church brings, and the positive people that I get to interact with during our meetings. I love how it helps me understand our purpose here on Earth, as well as where we are going when we die. I love the way I feel when I read the Book of Mormon, and I love its many interesting stories. I'm a Mormon. I know it. I love it. I live it.

How I live my faith

Currently I hold two callings in my ward; Family History Consultant and Mia Maids Secretary. What do I do? Honestly, I'm not really sure. As a Family History Consultant I believe my purpose is to help those who have an interest in studying their own family history to learn the basics of the church's programs that allow them to do so. Last October they held a 'Family History Fair" where they set up booths to help people learn about the process, but sadly I wasn't able to attend. Mia Maids is a group for LDS girls between the ages of 14 and 16. As the secretary, my job is to take role every week, write stuff down at the meetings, as well as help with planning our activities.

What is being a Mormon like?

It's great. You may have heard before that Mormons are not supposed to drink coffee, alcohol, or date before the age of 16. You may have also heard that we try to often engage in scripture reading, personal prayer, and weekly family gatherings called Family Home Evening. All of this is true. However, I don't think for a moment that we are restricted for what we do. Our way of life may be a little different, but I wouldn't give it up for the world. Show more Show less
