Hi I'm Alisa

I'm in my 20-somethings, working and going to school, and telling some pretty rad cat jokes along the way. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college girl who works hard to get good grades, hates reading textbooks, and spends too much time worrying about homework when I should just get it done. I am a firm believer that there are few things a long drive or breakfast foods can't fix. I think that it's important that people don't feel alone. and I think that we need each other. I think it's important to be there for your family, friends, and people that mean something to you. I like to laugh, hike, eat, and be active. I don't think you should take yourself too seriously and it's okay to laugh at yourself. Life will suck if you're constantly picking at your flaws. Blow it off and do something your future self will thank you for.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. Growing up in Utah I have many influencing factors that would lead me to be a member. However, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I want to be. I have never found anything in my life that has brought me more happiness and peace than this gospel. There are days where I struggle and think that I've lost all hope, but this gospel and my loving Heavenly Father, give me strength. I find most of my strength through the temple. I know the temple is a place of refuge, peace, and of God. I am a Mormon because I love my family. And I know that because of the ordinances performed in the Temple, I can be with my family for eternity. I am a Mormon because it gives me answers and certainty. In a world of constantly conflicting views and questions, I can know for sure and receive answers to my questions and concerns. This is a religion of truth.

How I live my faith

I believe you can live your faith wherever you are. Since I am living at home, I live my faith by serving those around me. I babysit and nanny for several families all while setting an example and teaching their kids about the values and beliefs of this gospel. I think the best way you can teach others about this faith is by living a Christ-like life. I try to do this to the best of my abilities. I get involved. I serve in church callings, and attend meetings like institute and socials. Being involved is fun and beneficial. It isn't always sitting still in a chair for three hours. I am eligible to serve a full time mission for the church. However, since I am female it is optional. I have chosen to not serve. This isn't because I don't have a testimony or because I have something against missions, it is because I have prayed and received the answer that I have other "missions" to serve in my life right now. Regardless of if I am a missionary or not, I plan to live my faith by being a friend to others, praying for guidance, and being an example to everyone around me.
