Hi I'm Maurie

I'm from Idaho Falls. I am the oldest in my family headed to College and try to set a good example for my siblings. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the oldest in my family I have 2 younger brothers in High school, and a little sister who just started Elementary school.I enjoy coloring, camping, hiking, and cooking with my family. My family and I have traveled so many places together, and that is what always brings us closer together. My parents have taught me to work hard and so I work as a janitor cleaning people's homes and offices. I quite enjoy it too! I am currently a Freshman in College. I would like to major in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Political Science and Hospitality. I have always enjoyed planning events, parties, assemblies, and anything that involves large groups. Once I get my degree I want to live in a larger City and plan city wide events. This June (2016) I will take a break from college and leave to serve a mission in Cleveland Ohio. I am beyond excited to serve the Lord, and teach His word.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My Parents were both born into the church, and so were all of my grandparents, great grandparents, and even my great great grandparents. I have always been very active in the church throughout my life and sought to gain my own testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel. Everyone struggles, and no one is perfect, except our Savior Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It is through my mistakes and especially my trials that I have gained my testimony. My faith, and trust in the Lord has grown as I overcome my struggles. The Lord Lives. Jesus Christ- His Son- suffered and died for our sins and for all our pains, trials, and sorrows. He understands us- He knows us. He will not let us fail. We can turn to him by following his commandments, and as we do he will guide us. I know that the power of Prayer is real, that we can communicate with our Father in Heaven as we kneel in prayer and read the scriptures. He answers our prayers. I know that the Lord loves each of his children, He will not let us fail if we will just turn to him.

How I live my faith

I attend my weekly meetings and do all I can to participate with the individuals in my ward. Since I attend a Singles Ward at the College, I like to go to all the events, meetings, and socials we have and meet new people. I am serving as a Family Home Evening Leader. Every Monday night I plan a spiritual thought and invite those individuals assigned to my group, as well as any others I can get to come. We always play games and have some sort of food. It has been a great blessing to be apart of the church and involved in so many callings. I have learned so much from the people I work with and meet. I am also happily involved in Family History Work. I take the time to go through records to find those souls who have passed on into the next life- who did not have the opportunity to accept the Gospel. I have found so much joy in going to the temple to do their work so they now have the opportunity to accept the Gospel.
