Hi I'm Matthew

I study chemistry. I am a musician and a language enthusiast. I was born in Utah and raised in Indiana. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying chemistry and music, two of my greatest passions in life. I enjoy composing, playing, and listening to music. Science has always fascinated me and I continue to love learning, and I want to teach for a career. When I'm not swamped with homework, I love to read and learn even more about the world around me. I'm an avid amateur historian and read a lot about early American history. I also love to enjoy the beauty of God's creation. Some of my fondest memories are with my family, whom I love so much; they are everything to me.

Why I am a Mormon

We all face difficulties in this life. We make mistakes, have bad days, feel lost or broken, and think we are all alone. I have felt this in my own life at various times and places. I know that whenever I feel this, whenever I feel like life is falling apart, whenever I think the dark clouds of hardship and trial will never part, whenever I believe that there is no hope for better times ahead, I can come unto Christ and find peace and love and joy. His light is eternal and can pierce even the darkest storms of life. He can grab us by the hand and refuse to let us go. He is our Friend, our Savior, and our Light. I have faith in His ability to heal and help us, and I have experienced this love so completely in His church. I am grateful for the knowledge that I have of Christ's role in our lives, and I'm grateful that God once again brought His church to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I have come closer to Christ because of that restoration, and I know that we can all come to know Him personally, even as a best friend.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is all about service to me. I seek always to love others as much as I know God loves them, and I show that love by serving. I serve in my church as an instructor and secretary. As a teacher, I have the amazing opportunity to share my beliefs and bring others close to Christ and Heavenly Father. I can share the love I have felt emanating from God with those I teach and help them to know that they are all children of God. I treasure the chance I get to help anyone in need, to befriend them, and to treat them as a spiritual brother or sister.
