Hi I'm Nathan Gonzales

My name is Nathan Gonzales. I'm a student. I'm an springboard diver. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up around the United States due to my father's career in the Military. As I moved around I got especially interested in sports. Particularly gymnastics and springboard diving. As I progressed in the sport and as I moved around I worked my way up to the national level where I won a national championship. I managed to receive a scholarship to pay for my schooling at a Division 1 University. I found it somewhat difficult to manage my school, practice, and religious studies at early morning seminary through the years. My faith has always been everything that makes me up as a person and has molded me to be a better disciple of Christ. After making it to the NCAA Swimming and Diving National Championships my first year in college I decided to put all that aside to serve a 2 year church mission. I have been called to serve the Lord full time for the next 2 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe this if God's church on the earth today. I found out for myself as I read the Book of Mormon and prayed fervently to know if the message contained in it is true. I know that God answers prayers because he answered mine. He answered me through feelings as I prayed and through enlightening my mind to see the truth of the message contained in the Book of Mormon through the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I do my best to serve the Lord in everything I do. I believe the best way we can be examples to the world is through our daily actions. I believe that our obedience to the commandments of the Lord will help us to change for the better. I have found strength in staying away from temptation like parties where I know there is alcohol and surrounding myself with people who have high standards as myself.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

As we stay away from substances live Alcohol, Tobacco, Tea and Coffee, and illegal drugs we will find strength in our own bodies, always having our own agency to choose and the spirit to help us discern between good and evil. Show more Show less
