Hi I'm Dylan Eveson

I grew up in Portland Oregon, I love sports and our home town teams, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always had a love for sports since a young age. I've always been really competitive when i was on the court or field. Anytime I had the opportunity to attend a professional sports event, I wouldn't hesitate to say yes. I have had ACL tears in both of my knees, and have had some life changing events happen because of it. It taught me that not everything in my life had to revolve around sports. Those 2 instances in my life helped me to actually turn towards God for the first real time in my life. My testimony grew tremendously during the 2 different times through rehab. The second time I tore my ACL was my second semester at BYU- Idaho, right when i was about to submit my mission papers. At the time i was devastated, and kept asking myself "why would God do this to me?" Since then, i attended another semester at BYU- Idaho, and they were great examples to me. They always encouraged me to participate more in school and church functions, which allowed me to continue to gain a stronger knowledge and testimony of the church.

Why I am a Mormon

My life changed when i was 16, and attended a church camp at BYU. When i got there, it was the first time I was surrounded by hundreds of people who had the same standards as me. Everyone bore their testimonies to each other, and it made me want to actually gain a testimony of the church. After it ended, I read the Book of Mormon for the first time, and prayed about it, and got that confirmation that it was true. Since then my testimony has grown tremendously as i went on to go to BYU- Idaho for college, and also preparing to serve a mission.

How I live my faith

I always attend my church services every week, and if anyone needs my help, I would try my best to help them. On April 27 i will leave on my LDS mission to Hong Kong for the next 2 years to dedicate my self to helping others realize The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church on the earth today.
