Hi I'm Sister Abalos

A 20-something, degree holder, and called to serve Philippines Laoag Mission

About Me

8 months old; I was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma stage 3 cancer. I underwent chemotherapy with my fellow patients as a batch, and only 2 survived. With the help of medicines and the Priesthood power which my father holds, adding the strong faith my mother has, I won the fight. I am now a graduate student, and called to serve in the Philippines Laoag Mission; reports in July 2018.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in covenant. My parents were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and were both returned missionaries. I grew up going to church every Sunday and I love how it completes me.

How I live my faith

I was once a pianist and Primary music teacher in our Ward. Both were a wonderful calling! I play piano during Sacrament with love to invite the Holy Spirit. I also enjoyed Primary class! I saw how amazing and talented the Primary children are. And I definitely enjoyed giving treats after lessons! I was released but then called to be one of the Ward Family History consultant. I am enjoying every blessings my Father in Heaven provides. So how do I live my faith? I live my faith by sharing my testimony, embracing my calling, humbly keeping the commandments, and above all, exercising my Christ-like attributes. I am aware that our church's standards are not easy to obey but Heavenly Father is a prayer away and I am a hundred and one percent sure that He is willing to help; we need only to ask. I love to end this by sharing one of my favorite quotation that lightens me everyday: "Choosing and doing the right is a magnet to greater blessings."

In whom should we have faith?

Sister Abalos
We should have faith in God and on things He can do. Faith is powerful. It can move mountain, they said. No one can take away our Faith from us. Let's make it stronger by following His commandments, and gain testimony. Show more Show less
