Hi I'm Kelly

I'm a small town girl. I love music and going on adventures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently studying to be a high school music teacher. I mainly play the trumpet but also love to sing, play guitar, piano, and ukulele. My favorite things to do are anything outside; I love soccer, running, hiking, climbing but most of all trying new things and meeting new people. I am excited about my mission call to Bangkok, Thailand. I love the Lord and I love to be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because living the gospel brings me joy. This church has helped me feel close and loved by my Father in Heaven as well by His Son, my savior, Jesus Christ. When I feel that love it teaches me how to more deeply love my family and the people around me. When I feel this love it brings me peace and joy. I know that life is not easy but with God's help I can do anything he asks me to do. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Jesus Christ's true church because I have lived it. And through living it everyday I learn by experience that there is nothing more real than the truths that this church teaches.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith everyday by the way I treat the people around me. Although I am not perfect, I hope that the people I interact with can feel how much Christ loves them through me. My calling in my ward of being a ward prayer leader gives me an opportunity to do this. Every Sunday night my ward comes together and we have a few thoughts and testimonies, we sing a hymn, say a prayer as a ward, then everyone gets to know each other better over a yummy treat. Another way I live my faith is through music. I feel God and Jesus Christ's love for me very strong when I listen to and perform uplifting music. I have an opportunity to share that love with other people each week when I play the organ for church on Sunday, as well as all the other opportunities studying music has given me.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Kelly
Faith starts with desire. If you have a desire to know something that leads to action, for example saying a prayer to ask Heavenly Father what is true. When we receive an answer to that prayer we gain faith. When we gain faith then we will continue acting on that faith and continue getting answers which will increase our faith. So if you want to increase your faith in Jesus Christ then put your desire or the amount of faith you have in Him and act on it. This can seem hard and scary at first but we can gain the courage to act through prayer. I know that He has never let me down and as you put your faith him, He won't let you down either.
