Hi I'm Benjamin

I've been homeschooled my whole life. I'm an Eagle Scout. I love to share goodness and help people become happier. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up in the heart of Utah my whole life, being homeschooled and learning about the Gospel since day one. I enjoy reading, singing, dancing, playing the guitar and hiking in the great outdoors. I love meeting new people and making new friends, as well as having great times with the friends that I've made throughout my life so far. While I've struggled coming up with an idea for a career, I've been looking more and more at becoming a mentor with things that I've been learning recently. I love helping people and I think that being a mentor would allow me to take my efforts to the next level and help me to help others. I also love learning about my family history, my grandma as a young girl came to the United States from Germany with her family shortly after World War II. Learning about her family has been a really exciting adventure for me and there are many great stories that I've been able to learn and then share with the rest of my family and people that I meet to help inspire them.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ gives me an anchor in the midst of swirling seas of mixed opinions and confusion on how to live. Because it gives me hope for a better world to come where we will all love one another perfectly and be able to continuously improve and progress. Because I have a loving Heavenly Father that I have been able to come to know by studying the scriptures and learning about Him through the teachings of the gospel. Because I am able to know my Savior Jesus Christ personally and have Him as a friend and strength through my trials as well as when I have good times and want to share them with someone who will understand. Because I have a supreme goal to work towards in this life, the ability to return to our Father in Heaven and live with Him throughout eternity. Because the gospel brings me joy and happiness as I live it and follow God's commandments, I don't have to worry about the consequences of choices that I might have otherwise taken without the guidance the gospel brings in relation to sins that we can become trapped in. Because I know that there is always someone who loves me, even when I struggle to love myself. Because I know there is a reason to the day in and day out struggles of life that otherwise might seem meaningless without the hope of the gospel. Because I will be able to be with my family forever throughout all eternity, including my ancestors that I wasn't able to meet in mortality and come to know and love. Because my life has a purpose and I know that as a child of God, He loves me perfectly as a father and will always do the things that will bless me and guide me in my life. Because I am able to be guided by the Holy Ghost and have a point of reference in tough decisions that might paralyze me without a perfect source of wisdom that I can turn to at a moment's notice. Because I will not be left comfortless when I am in need, and because I am loved perfectly by the God of the Universe and He cares for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by daily morning and evening prayer to my Heavenly Father, daily scripture study, weekly church attendance, studying about Jesus Christ our Savior, learning more about our church history, sharing the joys of the gospel with people I meet when appropriate. I also have the opportunity to visit with fellow church members with a companion and help make sure that their needs as a family are being met and that they know they have another friend that will be there for them when they need, this is known as 'hometeaching' and I love the chance to get to know and love my neighbors more through the church. I'll also be given the opportunity now and again to share about a gospel topic over the pulpit in a church sermon, since we don't have a paid ministry I have this amazing chance to share my testimony and knowledge of the gospel with others that believe in the same gospel principles as myself and we are able to rejoice in Jesus Christ together as Christians. Other times I will be able to teach a lesson in a smaller group of members and be able to expound and explore further the doctrine of the gospel. I have the great opportunity as well to go and share my beliefs with the amazing people of Cusco, Peru on a two-year proselyting mission to be able to serve our Lord Jesus Christ day in and day out for a couple years of life and share the reality of Jesus Christ's Atonement that enables us to return to live with God again and be happy throughout all of eternity with our families.
