Hi I'm Kerry

I am a mother, grandmother, retired elementary reading assistant, and family history researcher. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 4 and grandmother of 9. I loved being a mother and find that being a grandparent is even better! I am a retired reading assistant at the elementary level. I enjoyed helping children learn to read and sharing with them my love of reading. Studying the scriptures and learning more about my Savior Jesus Christ brings me joy. I feel the Savior's love for me as I read his words. The scriptures bring me hope for the future. Music has always been important to me. I majored in music in college and sang in many groups and musicals. I currently share my love for music and the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the children of my local congregation as a Chorister. Family History research is an important part of my life. My German ancestors immigrated to a a small village in Russia along the Volga in 1767. I have been researching the decendents of the people of this village. Some immigrated to the US, some to Kazakstan, some to Siberia and some back to Germany in the 1900s. Their faith and courage is a inspiration to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by goodly parents who taught me the stories of Jesus and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I can not remember a time when I have not known that Jesus Christ is my Savior. They taught me to love the Scriptures and to serve others with love. Being a Mormon is a part of who I am. I know that the true Church of Jesus Christ has been restored. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and teaches us a deeper understanding of our Savior and His sacrifice.

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed working with the young children in school and church. I have tried to treat the children I have worked with with love and understanding. I have tried to encourage them and love them as I know their Savior loves them. When problems have occurred I have tried to teach them a better way to solve problems. My motto was give them more hugs! I love the scriptures. I love studying them and like to share with others how the scriptures have blessed my life. The Lord has answered my prayers in the past and continues to show His Love to me daily. I try to help others in my daily life and try to be aware of those who may be struggling with life and help them with a listening ear.
