Hi I'm Steve Thompson

I grew up in Idaho. Moved to Oregon to teach school. I have 4 children and 9 grandkids. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love life. I have been teaching young people most of my life. I have taught Middle School, High School, Musuem students, other teachers, and church kids. I'm really love Cross Country and Track and field. I have coached for 42 years. But most of all I love being with my wife, children, and grandkids. They have brought so much joy to my life. We enjoy traveling this beautiful world that was created by God.

Why I am a Mormon

I gained my testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints after reading the Book of Mormon. Even though I was raised in the church, I hadn't gained a testimony of its truthfulness until when I was 20 years old and I decided to read the Book of Mormon. As I read the Holy Spirit whispered to me in a soft sweet voice that what I was reading was true. This experience changed my life forever. This knowledge has brought me more joy and happiness than I can imagine.

How I live my faith

I try to be kind and help everyone I meet. I try to make a difference in people's lives by building them up when they need it. I work on being an example of my religion and display Christ-like behavior. I like when I am able to help people I know and people I don't know. If I can help someone get into a car when the keys are left inside, it makes my day. I love serving in the church in any way that I can.
