Hi I'm Gabe

Proud Brazilian! An outdoors enthusiastic and a baptizer. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm the only son of an unique mother! An important fact: I love sushi, barbecue, food-truck or any concept of urban-modern kind of food/restaurant that can help me foster my love for food. I was born and raised in São Paulo City, Brazil! I love going through my city and see high-buildings, city-rushing, and diversity of things, people, and places that you can find if you get in the right subway! I'm kind of an intense person in all my activities and I've been taught to be the best that I can in everything I do. Just being outdoors and completely energetic 24/7 contrast with a necessity for quiet moments and a good book. I finished high-school and seminary (our religious 4-years program) when I was 17 years-old, and I fell in love with Chemistry at the same time. I've always loved school (not on Mondays/Fridays) and I've been at many competitions, challenges, and schooling stuff. Although, I didn't start college. I have decided to wait and serve Jesus Christ as a fully ordained missionary in the dreamland, at the Peach state, in Georgia Atlanta North Mission!

Why I am a Mormon

As a child, I was a Mormon because I had never been something different. Because I have been raised in the church and I knew that that was the place that everybody wanted me to be; it was a lifestyle. Growing up, I started to see how hard life can be, so I realized I should find protection against everything the world was offering me. This protection came, later, within The Book of Mormon and the true and prophetic mission of Joseph Smith. No man could write such a book! These things have brought me closer to Jesus Christ. He went from being that main personage that I used to hear about when I was a child, and truly became my friend, my Savior, who has given away His life for me. When I came to know these things, I also knew that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the only and true Church in the earth! I know it by experience too; by good standards that I've learned and applied in my life. I have understood that those standards, or commandments, don't confine me, but give me freedom; freedom to explore my city, my friendships, my activities without fear! I'm a Mormon because my Church is not a Church of temporary pleasures, but it is a Church of Eternal Happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith working in the Church's main mission: missionary work! Since always, my mom motivated me (pushed/press me haha) to put missionaries and missionary work first! So I needed to go to all the baptisms, sit with people who were investigating the Church, go out on weekly team ups with the missionaries, and I can't measure how much those things have helped me. Something started to develop inside me, and I knew it was charity, the pure love of Christ! Since then, the Lord has given me many opportunities to serve. When I was seventeen years-old, I was called to go out in a mini-mission for three months in São Paulo North Mission. At eighteen years old, I was called to serve in Georgia Atlanta North Mission! Even better, I needed to wait for my visa, serving for five months in Brazil Rio de Janeiro Mission. Now, I see the huge impact which those missions had over me. Being a missionary and help people to repent, testifying it by going into the waters of baptism, have brought me to a level that's not like any other level.
