Hi I'm Ty

I am from beautiful Colorado. I love playing sports, especially basketball, as well as the guitar and piano. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing and watching basketball. I love playing the piano and am teaching myself to play the guitar. I am a missionary right now, serving God and the people in Northern Virginia. After I get home, I plan to return to school and want to attend medical school. I love learning about the body and the complexities and amazing capabilities of the human mind! Hiking, fishing, camping, biking; I love doing anything outdoors. Colorado is my favorite place, and I can't wait to someday travel the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that the way Christ teaches us to live not only allows me unparalleled peace and happiness in this life, but will also provide eternal happiness for me in the life to come. I know that striving to become more like Jesus Christ is what makes me happy. I know that following His commandments gives me strength and peace in times of difficulty, but just as much in times of happiness and content. I am a Mormon because I have had the Holy Spirit manifest the realness of Christ and His Church to me in countless circumstances. The ability to be with my loved ones for eternity is one of the greatest blessings that we are afforded on this life. I know what it is like to not have the gospel of Christ in my life; I know how it feels to be hopeless, unhappy, lost, and want something more. When I decided to follow Christ is when I learned that He can take away not only my sins and mistakes, but can build and buoy me up in every aspect of my life that I am lacking in. All of my weaknesses can be filled in and made strengths, all of my ineptitudes can be changed into blessings. My unhappiness has and can continue to become joy. I am a Mormon and want to let others feel of the happiness, mercy, and peace that I have found.

How I live my faith

My faith means so much to me that I have began serving as a full-time missionary, bringing the peace, hope, and joy of Jesus Christ's restored Gospel to everyone around me. Attending church is the highlight of every week for me. Setting aside a day of the week to honor the Lord and remember all that He has done for me allows me the break and the peace I need in an ever-chaotic world. I love being surrounded by people who live Christ's teachings ands strive to be like them. I love being able to teach, whether by example, during home teaching, Church meetings, or any other instance I can, and I love learning from good examples around me.

In whom should we have faith?

We should have faith in Jesus Christ. We should have faith that He can, that He will, and that He does, forgive us and give us the strength, peace, and love we need to endure hardships and build up those around us. Faith in Jesus Christ motivates us to act; it causes us to repent, or to change and become more like Him, and it causes us to have a desire -- not feel compelled -- to follow His commandments and receive the blessings that we receive from loving obedience. Faith in Jesus Christ means knowing that we can someday become like Him, and that every day is another opportunity to learn, grow, love, and change. Show more Show less
