Hi I'm Jorri García

I'm a Utah girl who married her best friend from 3,000 miles away. I love gardening, good food, and social work. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live on the lively, wonderful campus of Utah State University here in Logan. I'm getting ready to graduate with my bachelor's degree this semester and start real life (yikes!). I'm passionate about social work and strengthening my community through service. I love the outdoors and I'm an avid though amateur gardener. I'm about to celebrate one year of marriage with my wonderful husband, who came all the way from Quetzaltenango Guatemala to be with me. In my free time I enjoy cheesy Netflix movies, Zumba classes, and trying out new cookie recipes.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ is my greatest source of happiness!

How I live my faith

I'm trying my best to follow the example of my Savior in being kind, compassionate, and helpful to everyone around me. I have been greatly blessed to serve with the children in my congregation. It's a small group because all of us here are college students, but I love getting to see their sweet personalities as they start to learn about their Heavenly Father. I really believe that we can each make a huge difference when we help to teach a child. I also have many opportunities to follow Jesus Christ's example of service in my work at a social services agency and through volunteering in my community, but I think my faith is most important in my own family. Even though we don't live very close to either of our immediate families, my husband and I keep in contact with everyone to be aware of their needs and support them.
