Hi I'm Lizzie

I grew up in a small town. I'm an English major. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in the mountains of Utah. I graduated as a valedictorian in my high school, and I'm currently working towards my Bachelor's degree in English. I have three little sisters, and I love spending time with them. I also love to read, play, the piano, and participate in local plays.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it brings me joy. Through scripture study, church, and other classes and activities, I've come to know that Heavenly Father is real and that He loves me. I've developed a real relationship with Jesus Christ, and I know that He is always there for me. I love the peace that this gospel brings into my life. I know that when I follow Heavenly Father's commandments, He blesses me in ways that I can't even imagine. Because Christ suffered for my sins, He knows me perfectly, and He can help me through any struggle I face. I'm a Mormon because through the gospel, I can be with my family forever. I know that death is not the end, and I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us so that we can return to live with Him. I know that everything happens for a reason, and that everything will work out so long as I trust in His plan.

How I live my faith

I've served as president in several of my youth classes. Currently, I am one of the organists for church on Sundays. I've recently been called as a missionary for the Church, and I will be serving for 18 months in Tokyo, Japan!

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Lizzie
Absolutely! In the scriptures, we see Heavenly Father calling many prophets to teach and lead His people. God is unchanging, and He still wants to teach us today. The world is confusing, and life is confusing, and the prophet can guide and direct us in the best way to return to live with Heavenly Father someday. Heavenly Father called Joseph Smith to be the first prophet of our age, and the fullness of the gospel was restored through him. Joseph Smith's authority has been passed down through the years and now rests with Thomas S Monson. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Lizzie
The family is central to God's plan. It's within our families that we learn how to interact with one another using love and respect. Our families are the people we can rely on no matter what, because they're always there for us. Being a part of a family is hard, but it would be so much harder to learn and grow if we had to do it all on our own! I know that no family is perfect, and that some families are more ideal than others, but I also know that we can work through challenges and hard situations in order to strengthen not only ourselves, but our families as well. If we follow Heavenly Father's plan, we can be united with them forever, and that is the most beautiful thing to strive for. Show more Show less
