Hi I'm Diana

My parents joined the church when I was two. I can't remember a time when I didn't believe in Heavenly Father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have been married for 36 years. We have five children and 9 grandchildren. Family is important to us. My husband and I have been the guardian of his mentally ill, mentally disabled twin sister for nine years. It has been very difficult but we have learned much from the experience and met many wonderful people. In facing the challenges we have with my sister in law I have come to understand her divine nature and mine as well. I have learned to rely on the Lord as I was facing the difficulties of life with mental illness. We consider it a blessing rather than curse. Our children are wonderful people and they are raising beautiful children. We try to always be good examples and remind them that the Lord loves them. I was blessed to be a stay at home mom so my hobbies and interests are related to homemaking. I like to cook and bake, sew, knit, crochet and embroider. Organizing is fun and gardening is probably my favorite thing. Nature brings me close to the Lord. My husband and I like to camp and hike and canoe.

Why I am a Mormon

I really cannot remember a time when I didn't believe in Heavenly Father. As I have gone to church, read the scriptures and prayed, my relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have grown. The Holy Spirit brings understanding of the Lord's will for me and I feel the Lord's love for me. That feeling gives me a love for others and a desire to give and serve.

How I live my faith

I love to read the scriptures and I have the opportunity to teach teenagers in Sunday School right now and play the piano for the choir since I can't sing. All the callings I have had have left blessings in my life. Since my sister in law has a wonderful placement right now, I have more time to serve others. I am part of a gardening organization that serves the community and recently found another opportunity to work in a community garden that provides food for a charity. As the year progresses I hope to find more opportunity to meet and serve others with the talents I have.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Diana
Having faith in Jesus Christ has lead me to learn of him and try to be like him. Following Christ's example brings love to our hearts and binds us to our family and friends. Forgiveness is important in a family and has brought healing and love to our family. Having faith in Christ and knowing his mission teaches me that he is the source of strength that will get us through the difficulties we face in life. I have felt that courage and strength as I have relied on him. I am grateful for that love that fills my life with so much joy. Show more Show less
