Hi I'm Afton Owen

I grew up in Idaho, currently preparing to serve in the New Jersey Morristown Mission, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently going to college at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I grew up in this college town, and so it it fun to go to the college that I grew up with. Growing up, I did Ballroom Dancing- and competed in England in 2014. I also helped with the high school plays by being in charge of the costumes. I also loved being in choir. Being in a Mormon community growing up has always been a huge blessing in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with two brothers with autism. This has affected and helped my faith daily. I have learned and know how to be Christ-like and how teach others from my experiences. Even though I have grown up in the church, I have had many trials come to me in the family. Despite all of this however, I strive to keep holding on and keeping onto the faith that I do have. I know for a fact that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is for everyone. He loved us to much that He was willing to die for us, and so because of that I believe that we can trust Him, because He knows of all of the trials and pain that we go through. The least I can give Him for all that he has done for me is to teach His word to all of His people. I will always strive to be like Him no matter what.

How I live my faith

I have tried to serve in my church as often as possible. I have visited and taught many girls that are my age and have learned that everyone is a very special son or daughter of God. I love the people that I am around with and learn from each of them daily.
