Hi I'm Alyson Packer

I currently attend Weber High School. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am sixteen years old and decided that I don't want to just be known as a student, I want to make something of myself, so I decided to write my own novel. I just finished it a couple days ago and turned into an editor. I am an avid reader, I love to read LDS romance fiction and regency romance. I also enjoy visual and performing arts such as drawing, painting, piano, singing, acting, and dancing. I hope to one day change lives around me using my talents. I only want to put my talents to good use. A couple of my main goals in my life is to serve a mission, get married and sealed in the temple, raise a family, and become a novelist and get my books published.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church and as a young child it was just simply something we did. I didn't know any better, I just did as I was asked. Now as a teenager I have definitely had to gain my own testimony. I can't rely on my parents much longer and I understood that a couple summers ago when I was able to go to girls camp. Previous in the summer I had been emailing a non-member friend about our church and he started to sound extremely convincing. I was confused and I hated it. As I went to girls camp a special young women had helped me one of the nights in our tent. We were having a family scripture study night and I talked about all of my concerns. She just gave me a scripture 1 Nephi 11:17 that reads "And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things." And just like that my worries were dismissed. I had my own revelation that night as we talked. The spirit was so strong and I heard inside my head say "You have known it was true all along." And that voice was right, that night I gained my own personal testimony, and I didn't need to rely on my parents anymore. I know the power of the spirit and testify that it works and it is true. He will lead and guide you. I testify that I know without a doubt that this church is true. I am so grateful for the power of the atonement and have been so grateful to use it several times. I also testify to the power of music, I get the spirit the most when I listen to good, peaceful, uplifting music and I am so grateful for the hymns in my life. I know that the temple is the House of the Lord and am so grateful that I will one day be able to enter into it and be sealed to my husband forever. I love the church and I can't count how many times it has offered me peace. I am a Mormon; I know it, I live it, I love it!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by the Holy Ghost. I can usually tell when something has gone amiss. I recognize the spirit and try to follow his guide lines as much as possible because I can see the blessings in my life as I live close to the spirit. I have noticed that if I do anything to offend the spirit than I really feel gross, so by way of example I have come to try to follow the spirit more closely. I also love service and helping others, I love the smiles that I can put on other peoples faces. I can definitely feel the spirit when I serve others and I love they way I feel. I currently serve in the presidency of my Laurels class and I enjoy it more than you would believe. I also try to attend the temple weekly, I love the feeling of peace and joy when I enter the Lord's house. It's really nice to have as a teenager because we are thrown with so many challenges and stress. We just need to go somewhere where we can feel the spirit and know that everything will work out okay. I love the temple and crave it every week.
