Hi I'm James

I've grown up in California, and love both the sun and the snow. I love the gospel, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up in California and love the sun. I enjoy just about every sport imaginable, including baseball, golf, soccer, and skiing. But, my favorite thing to do is spend time with family and friends. Some of our favorite things to do include watching comedies, playing games, going to the beach, and hiking. I am currently a college student studying mechanical engineering, and absolutely love it!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born my parents were already members of the church, and I have had the privilege of learning about the faith they enjoy so much! Throughout my life I have enjoyed being able to learn of Christ and His teachings by attending church, praying, reading scriptures like the Bible and Book of Mormon, and serving others in my community. From these experiences, I have learned that I am a child of a loving Heavenly Father who has a plan of happiness for me. I am grateful for Jesus Christ and His loving example of service, and who's teachings bring peace to my life in both the exciting and difficult times of my life. The gospel has provided a deeper sense of who I am and my purpose in living and enjoying life. Though it isn't always easy, I am grateful for the knowledge that Christ lives and loves me and can help me become the best I can possibly be.

How I live my faith

Currently I'm a secretary for my local Bishop, and enjoy the opportunity to meet so many incredible people! My ward is mostly composed of college students like me. They are incredible people, and I have enjoyed their many talents and strong faith. As a ward family we've grown close, and enjoy doing activities with each other like sledding, traveling to see Christmas lights, or competing together in sports competitions. I especially enjoy the friends in my Monday-night family church group. My "family" group is one of many in the ward who get together on Monday nights to develop friendships with others in the ward and community by participating in fun activities like ice cream runs and visits to trampoline parks.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

We believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. As members, we learn about Jesus Christ by studying scriptures like the Book of Mormon and the Bible, both of which teach of Christ's sacrifice to help us overcome the pains and mistakes that we might endure in life so that we can live with God again. They also teach of His example during His life on Earth, and teach that He was resurrected after His death. He lives, loves us, and is God's Son. Through Him we can overcome all of our trials and find joy in this life and life after death. Show more Show less
