Hi I'm Kyle Davis

I was born in Provo, Utah and grew up in the South Bay Area of Los Angeles. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving in the Arizona Phoenix Mission from July 2016 to 2018. I love the nice weather of Southern California, but I'm currently studying Computer Science at Brigham Young University in Provo. I love music and if I wasn't studying Computer Science I'd be studying Music in some form.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents were born in the Church as was I. I was always concrete in my faith but since coming to Brigham Young University that faith has grown exponentially. The Church brings good people together with good intent. I know that the gospel taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the same gospel established by Christ when he came to this Earth two millennia ago under the same. Going back to my experience at BYU, the religion study classes I have taken have shown me this gospel of truth in new ways that enlighten life. I know the gospel is true and I know that anyone can find this truth through the Book of Mormon. God loves us and wants everyone to go to Heaven to be with Him and the way for us to do that is trough the gospel of Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through being a youth leader in both my congregation back home as well as a young adult leader at my congregation at BYU. I plan on serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after the end of the semester. I am looking forward to serving my fellow man and where ever I am asked to serve, I know I will love the people there and will faithfully follow the Lord's commandments.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Kyle Davis
Wards are local congregations usually based on geographic location that meet together regularly and led by a bishop. Branches are similar to wards in that they are local congregations that meet together regularly but are too small to be considered wards, and are lead by Branch Presidents instead of Bishops. Stakes are geographical groups of both wards and branches led by a Stake President, similarly to how the Catholic Church is organized into Diocese based on geographic location. Show more Show less

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Kyle Davis
Essentially, God chooses the prophet. But in terms of the world, after Joseph Smith was chosen personally by God to restore the Church, the next prophet is the Apostle with the most seniority. Each prophet is called of God and with the assistance of his two Counselors and the Twelve Apostles directs the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Show more Show less
