Hi I'm Tanner

I grew up in Maryland. I'm a student at BYU. I love to play sports, do flips, and sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a student at Brigham Young University, studying computer science. I grew up in Maryland, and lived there until I came out to college. I really enjoy playing sports, especially soccer and basketball. I have always been obsessed with flipping, whether it be on a trampoline or off a cliff. I love music, and have a passion for singing. I have been blessed with a wonderful family, in which I am one of five boys. I plan to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the near future.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a family with parents that were Mormon, so naturally I began attending church at a young age. At first, I went simply because I was expected to go, but I did not really believe in the Church. I decided that I needed to find out for myself if the Church was true. I began to read the book of Mormon and to pray to my Heavenly Father to know if the words were true. As I read I felt the Holy Ghost testify of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I recognized the Holy Ghost as a warm feeling, and a feeling of peace. Throughout my life I have continued to feel the Holy Ghost testify to me as I have learned more about the Gospel. I don't know everything, but I cannot deny that this Church is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that he restored the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and translated the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that through it we can come closer to him. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today who receives revelation from God to lead and guide the Church. I know that our Heavenly Father has a plan for us, and that we can live with him again. I know that Jesus Christ lives, and loves me, and that he atoned for my sins and the sins of the world so that we can all be saved. I cannot deny this knowledge, so that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be an example to others, by trying to follow Jesus Christ's example. I also try to take every opportunity to share my beliefs with others because I want everyone to enjoy the blessings that come from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I also have served in many callings in the church that I have tried to fulfill to the best of my abilities. Some of these include serving in leadership positions, helping get the word out for church events, and watching over other members as a "hometeacher".
