Hi I'm Spencer McClain

I live in Utah. I am very creative and enjoy connecting with life on a deeper, spiritual level. I am Mormon.

About Me

I am from a family of nine with six sisters and two brothers. I enjoy the company of my siblings and have created many memories with them. I am an independent learner and enjoy learning about things that interest me. Being homeschooled most of my life has given me an opportunity to dive deeper into who I am as a person and tune into my personal gifts and talents. I enjoy film and have participated in many amateur films that me and my brother created. I am an artistic person and enjoy applying it in drawing, sculpting, writing and cooking. I am currently in the process of writing a book series that I hope to publish a few years out. I believe in good health, not just in body but in mind, spirit, and emotions. Recently I have been learning a lot about how to be happy even in the midst of a storm. I am learning to be aware of every moment and appreciate it for what it merely is. Life seems to be a wonderful package full of many different opportunites to learn and grow.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the gospel with religious parents. It has always been a part of my life. Now that I am older I cannot see where I would be without it or how I would've approached certain things. It amazes me to see how it has played such a significant role in my life. I have felt that since I was born into the mormon religion that there isn't much to learn. Boy, was I wrong. Whenever I needed God it was in those moments I figured out how little I knew. It was in those moments that I took the opportunity to connect with God by putting what I knew to the test. Personally, I have felt that I have always had a sensitivity to life and always expressed sincere feelings towards God. It wasn't until this particular moment that I realized that I needed to use what I know and put it up against faith; things that I do not know. This opened a new door for me. Whether I like it or not I am just a convert like anyone else would be, but I am grateful that I can always learn and grow like anyone else. Every time that I have come closer to God I see why I have personally chosen the Mormon faith. I can't see any other way of living without it. Knowing that there is a God, a person who loves you more than yourself is something to consider. That teaches you how to love and appreciate yourself as who you truly are; a child of God. I am Mormon because I am a child of God and He has sent me here to fulfill a purpose.

How I live my faith

From May 2016 to May 2018 I will be serving a mission in the Minnesota, Minneapolis Mission. I look forward for more opportunities to increase my faith in Jesus Christ by inviting others to experience the joy the Atonement holds.
