Hi I'm Kristen

I am a horse and dressage enthusiast. I am the 4th daughter in a family of 5. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon missionary.

About Me

I am serving as a Mormon missionary in the Arkansas Bentonville Mission. I have completed my first year of college studying Communications. I grew up in Arizona and love the desert and the heat but the beach is my happy place. I have ridden horses since I was 7 years old. I have a niece and nephew that I adore more than anything. I love my family and the fun we have together which often includes singing and dancing along to music like no one is watching.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because, while I have been raised in the church my whole life, I made the decision to know for myself that the principles taught in our church are true. I have prayed time and again to my Heavenly Father to know if He is there, if He loves me, if I am His child, if Joseph Smith is a true prophet called of God, and if the Book of Mormon is true. Each time God has answered my prayers. I know that those things are true and I cannot deny them. They did not come all at once or as soon as I asked but as I waited patiently for God to teach me He did. The precious knowledge I have gained from being a member of this church brings me comfort, strength, and happiness, even (and especially) in times of trial.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving those in need. I am serving the people of the Arkansas Bentonville Mission and helping them to come closer to Christ. I try to build the faith of others in my area by expressing my own and helping them find relief through Christ's Atonement, make promises with Him, and receive His spirit in their lives more greatly. I try to show love and kindness to everyone I come in contact with. I try to find little ways I can serve others as often as I can.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Kristen
Coming to know our Father in Heaven personally is something we all must learn to do. How I have come to know my Heavenly Father better is by talking to Him. We can pray to our Father in Heaven at any time, in any place. As I made the decision to pray and talk to my Heavenly Father more often and did so sincerely, as if I were talking to my own father here on Earth, I have come to feel His love for me greater than ever before. I could more easily recognize His hand in my life. As we become willing to follow God's commandments and do His will He will guide us and help us and we will come to know Him more. We can feel His love more greatly in our lives. We can also learn more about Heavenly Father by reading and studying the scriptures that testify of Him. All that is needed to start is a desire. As we act on that desire we will be strengthened as Heavenly Father will draw nearer to us as we draw nearer to Him. Show more Show less
