Hi I'm Akaila

I've lived in Utah most of my life, but was born in California. I love the LDS church and am about to embark on my mission in DC!

About Me

I recently attended Southern Utah University. I just finished my freshmen year in college. I am going into Psychology. I hope to one day to own a Dude Ranch where kids can come and enjoy the outdoors and everything this world has to offer. A place where you can escape the troubles of life and find yourself. So, as you may be able to tell, I love the outdoors. Camping, hiking, fishing, four-wheeling. I especially love horse back riding. It's one of my favorite things. I am the oldest of 4 kids. My siblings mean the world to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon religion. I have had close family members fallen away from the church and being able to see how much their life has changed because of it, really strengthens my testimony. For most of my life I have relied on my Mother's testimony. Why? Because she is a convert and was able to find out if the church was really true, unlike me, where I just automatically thought it was true. But while preparing to serve a mission for 2 years, I have developed my own testimony and my own faith. I believe in this church because of all the miracles that have been put into my life. Also, knowing that my family is together forever is pretty neat.

How I live my faith

At the moment I do not have a calling in my ward because, I am serving an LDS mission in Washington DC. I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to go spread the gospel that I love. I was attending an Institute class, which where you go and learn more about the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
