Hi I'm Elisabeth

I'm a die hard Trekkie with an Irish music addiction. I'm always looking for a new adventure. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah, and I highly doubt I will ever leave. I am a biology education major at school. I'm so excited to someday be a high school teacher and share my love for science with others. When I'm not at school or working, Im probably napping. I LOVE napping. But I do try to get out and have adventures. I am a hobby photographer and I love hiking and photographing Utah's beautiful scenery. I have an unhealthy obsession with Star Trek and Irish music. I play, or rather attempt to play, the Irish bodhrán, tin whistle, and violin/fiddle. I love to make people laugh and am constantly finding reasons to smile.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but I never knew for sure what I believed until as a young adult I found myself at my lowest. I was depressed, terrified for my future. I had just lost a family member very unexpectedly. I was struggling with things no one should have to go through and I found myself in the position where I did not want to live anymore. I was driving, and all of a sudden I felt the overwhelming need to drive to the temple. I sat in the parking lot, and the hymn "I Need Thee Every Hour" came on my radio. I sobbed and poured my heart out to my Heavenly Father for a sign that life was worth living, that anything I believed was true. In the silence that followed the song, I felt a warm presence in my car. And all of a sudden I felt like everything was going to be ok. I felt more peace than I had in years. That feeling saved my life. And I knew then that this church was true. I've felt the Holy Spirit and his guiding hands. I know our Heavenly Father only sends us challenges to make us stronger. I believe in the power of the priesthood and it's healing abilities. I know that families are eternal and that death is not the end. And with my whole heart, I know my Heavenly Father loves me.

How I live my faith

I have been through many ups and downs in life. When I was a teenager I struggled with faith. I was lucky to be surrounded by amazing examples and role models during my times of struggle. Now that I'm older, and I hope wiser, I make it my goal to be an example of faith and love for others, just like those people in my life were for me. I am not very good at it, and I constantly make mistakes. But I firmly believe I was not meant to be perfect, I am meant to be the best I can be. I pray daily, and read my scriptures often.
