Hi I'm JR

I grew up in Utah, am a senior in high school, and race mountain bikes for the Utah high school (NICA) league, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for all of my life. I will be graduating high school with my associates degree and plan on attending a local university to finish my education. I have been a part of a high school mountain biking league (NICA) for the last four years and I was one of the first to race with NICA here in Utah. I love mountain biking, and plan to continue in the sport, even if not racing. I have recently picked up road biking and really enjoy riding with my dad and friends. I'm not a major fan of running, but I do it occasionally to cross-train. I love being in the mountains camping, skiing, hiking, and biking. I love to spend time with my friends, but mostly I love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with a long family history of members of the Church. I had many ancestors who came across the plains of the United States with the handcart companies, and my family has been here in Utah ever since. There are many reasons that I have continued to follow our Heavenly Father, and His Gospel. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that the Atonement of Jesus Christ really does work. We all need the Atonement, and the sacrifice that our loving brother, Jesus Christ made for us. Because of His loving sacrifice, I know that if we take advantage of the Atonement, and really strive to use it, we will be blessed immeasurably, and will be able to become like our Father in Heaven; God's and Goddesses of our own worlds.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by not swearing, choosing to befriend those who will help me to do what is right, and live my standards. I am excited to serve a mission, and help teach those what I know, and love about this gospel. I attend the temple weekly, and have for the last four years. I have seen the tremendous blessings this brings to me, and have worked to share that with others, by inviting them to attend weekly with me. This was a goal that I set, and have kept, and hope to keep until I can't attend the temple weekly due to old age.
